The History of HKS Group

Walter Höhn purchases the company „Ossmer und Manns“ in Frankfurt and renames it to Walter Höhn with 1 employee. In October, the son of Walter Höhn, Günter, joins the company as second employee.

On April 1st, 1973 the company moves to Wächtersbach-Aufenau into a new building with about 2,150 sq ft / 200 m² office space.

Training and teaching of specialists begin. Until present day.

Production of the first rotary actuators begins.

Günter Höhn becomes Managing Director of the Walter Höhn GmbH.

The building in Wächtersbach-Aufenau is extended to create additional office space.

HKS Dreh-Antriebe GmbH is founded with its own design and sales department for hydraulic rotary actuators.

HKS Dreh-Antriebe GmbH & CO. KG in Neukirch (East Germany) is founded by Günter Höhn.

Production in our site in Neukirch begins.

In Wächtersbach-Aufenau, the company doubles its office and production space by building of a second company building.

The marketing company HKS France (near Paris) is founded.

There has been further expansion in Neukirch with the construction of a new production shop for manufacturing actuators weighing from 660 lbs / 300 kg each. Approximately 21,530 sq ft / 2000 m² of production area and approximately 5,390 sq ft / 500 m² of office space and area for social rooms are therefore now available.

The marketing company HKS North America, LLC is founded.

Acquisition of a wider plot of land on the Wächtersbach-Aufenau site. A further production shop and additional offices are planned.

Today the HKS Group employs over 140 people at 2 centres and has sales partners throughout the world.

Walter Höhn GmbH is celebrating its 40th year in business.
HKS Dreh-Antriebe GmbH was founded 25 years ago and HKS Dreh-Antriebe GmbH & Co. KG is celebrating its 15th jubilee.
