Change of the executive management: Günter Höhn assigns the company’s management to Daniel Hecker

Change of the executive management: Günter Höhn assigns the company’s management to Daniel Hecker and will remain Chairman of HKS together with his family.

For more than 50 years, Günter Höhn has been successfully leading the business of the HKS group. Starting at the engine lathe, he built his knowledge and intimate understanding of the company and begun to apply this unique insight into new opportunities and applications, taking HKS from local to global distribution of an arguably niche product area. With passion, courage and a pioneering spirit, he ensured the continued growth of HKS throughout financial and operational challenges.

At the beginning of the 1970s, Günter Höhn’s father Walter successfully bought out his employer’s company - a contract manufacturer of gear wheels - in Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen. At that time, Günter had just completed his apprenticeship as a machinist and decided to join his father in his new business venture. From that point on, the two of them continued to expand the business, and eventually moved to their first company premises in Wächtersbach-Aufenau. In collaboration they began their expansion from the ground up; creating a training programme for machine workers which became an important cornerstone of the business by continuing to refine and develop the knowledge and skill of the HKS workforce to leading experts in their field of engineering.

In addition to machine manufacturing, the next milestone of the company’s development was secured in the production of hydraulic rotary actuators. Shortly followed by the first expansion of the organisation, through the foundation HKS Dreh-Antriebe GmbH product development and design and physically through the acquisition of a second location in Neukirch / Lusatia for operations. This led to the transformation of the company from contract manufacturer to a supplier of hydraulic rotary actuators today being used in every industrial area all over the world!

Günter Höhn is still driven by the responsibility he feels for his employees, to create and maintain employment, and also by being a reliable business partner for customers and suppliers. For him, the work is never completed, there are so many things that he would have loved to finish before handing over.

HKS continues to grow and develop it will never be ‘finished’. Consequently, Günter Höhn now entrusts his lifework into the hands of more than 250 employees, and this gives way to excitement and pride to see what will be created and developed in this next phase of HKS’ future.

And so, after more than 50 years of being a Managing Director of HKS Dreh-Antriebe GmbH, Günter Höhn resigns his position as Managing Director effective from March 1, 2021.

He will continue in his role as company’s owner and shareholder, with his experience and knowledge, he will remain responsible side by side with his family for maintaining and supporting the future of the business.
We are very pleased to have Daniel Hecker at our side during this transition, having worked with HKS for now more than 4 years as Managing Director. He has made it his duty to keep the spirit of family business alive, and to continue guiding HKS safely into the future. The recruitment of a Technical Managing Director is underway as part of supporting and securing the leadership of HKS. For the time being, Mr. Hecker will be the sole Managing Director of HKS Dreh-Antriebe GmbH.

Since this year the shareholders and the management team will be additionally supported by an advisory board. This advisory board combines long-standing experience and expertise from leadership positions across in medium-sized and family businesses. HKS will utilise this expertise across the organisation in planning, strategy and innovation.

We thank you, our highly appreciated customers and business partners, for your loyalty and trust. We look forward to continuing our successful business relationship long into the future.

With best regards,
the Shareholder Family
