Every year, the association visits regional companies in order to adopt the annual financial statements of a successful financial year and, at the same time, introduce the large number of companies in the region.
In this context, HKS was selected to represent a mechanical engineering company from Frankfurt area, more precisely from Wächtersbach-Aufenau. The family-owned company, headquartered in Wächtersbach/ Germany, has been producing hydraulic rotary actuators for a wide range of industrial sectors for almost 50 years, but also implements such as XtraTilt, RotoBox and TiltRotator for the ever growing construction machinery sector and its challenges.
The TiltRotator can be thought of as the mechanical wrist of an excavator, which allows it to pivot and rotate, which would be impossible without this attachment. Thus, the working area of the excavator is extended with this and increases the working speed.
The members of the VDBUM were able to get a better impression of what the company is about on the factory tour through production and assembling departments, such as the quality "Made in Germany" of the family business.
"HKS has a hundred percent vertical range of manufacturing and works with the best materials", said Günter Höhn, managing director and owner of HKS, who was not too sorry to take on one of the working tours himself and explain the various development stages of the different actuators.
Despite the cold autumn weather, the live demonstration of the construction attachments was followed with great interest. For example, the TiltRotator TR120 with attached sensor was shown there. The HKS Sensor is a new development for the construction machinery sector, which transmits the positioning data of a TiltRotator and thus of the mounted attachment directly to the control system of the excavator. In an excavator equipped with a 2D / 3D control system, the movements of the TiltRotator and the attachment are transmitted in real time.
The visitors were also able to get an idea of the ambitious growth plans of the company. In the near future, the construction of a 2,000 m² production hall as an extension is planned at the company headquarters in Wächtersbach, for which the foundation stone can soon be laid.
